Indian Idol Season 5 Winner Sreerama Chandra Says He Was Supporting Indian Idol 12 Finalist Shanmukhapriya
Indian Idol Season 5 Winner Sreerama Chandra performed at the recently held Indian Idol 12 finale. The former winner felt it was a home-coming when he performed on the show. In conversation with ETimes TV, when he was quizzed about the final results of the 12th season, he said a female contestant should have won. He thought the show makers should have announced Arunita Kanjilal, Shanmukhapriya and Pawandeep as joint winners.

“Yeah. In fact, I have known Shanmukha for a long time. She and I hail from the South. She was in touch with me and I was supporting her on Instagram and Facebook. She used to send me her performance every week," he said. Srirama added, “Shanmukha is extremely focussed. Her classical side of singing has still not been displayed. Only the Western side has been exposed. Many people mustn't have understood the Western rift she sang with. Let me tell you here that it was I who suggested she learn the Hindi language. Baaki sabko toh itna support mil raha tha, I felt I should push her candidature.”

Shanmukhapriya ended up on the sixth spot on the singing reality show.

Sreerama had performed with the winner of Indian Idol 12 Pawandeep Rajan on the finale. However, it was not included in the finale episode due to time constraints, Sreerama said.
